The CJMCU-530 Distance Measurement Sensor Module utilizes the VL53L0X sensor, which operates on the principle of Time of Flight (ToF). Unlike other distance measurement sensors that use an IR sender and receiver to determine distance based on the angle of the reflected beam, ToF sensors measure distance by calculating the time photons spend in the air. This method provides more accurate results, especially for black objects that traditional IR sensors struggle to detect due to poor light reflection.

The CJMCU-530 sensor offers improved performance compared to its equivalent, the GY-530. It requires a 5V connection to the XSH (shutdown pin) Pin. The sensor will shut down to protect itself if the power is cut or weak. You can control the sensor's start and stop functionality via this pin using a signal from your Arduino.
