Real Time Clock RTC Module - I2C RTC DS1307
The DS1307 I2C Real Time Clock (RTC) module is a low-power consumption, full BCD code clock calendar chip with 56 bytes of nonvolatile RAM. It uses a two-wire bidirectional serial bus for transmitting address and data. The module is designed to keep track of seconds, minutes, hours, days of the month, months, and days of the week, with automatic adjustment for the days in each month and leap year compensation. The AM/PM flag determines whether the clock operates in 24-hour or 12-hour mode. Additionally, it features a built-in power sensing circuit with power failure detection and battery switching functions.
DS1307 Features:
- Counts seconds, minutes, hours, days of the month, months, and days of the week
- Leap year compensation up to the year 2100
- 56-byte nonvolatile RAM
- Two-wire serial interface
- Programmable square wave output
- Automatic power failure detection and switching circuit
- Power consumption less than 500nA in battery backup mode
Module Specifications:
- DS1307 I2C Real Time Clock Chip (RTC)
- 24C32 32K I2C EEPROM memory
- CR2032 rechargeable lithium battery with charging circuit
- Fully charged, the battery can provide DS1307 timing for 1 year
- Clock pin leads out to provide clock signal for microcontroller
- Other I2C devices can be cascaded
- Compact design: 27mm x 28mm x 8.4mm
This module solves the problem where the DS1307 cannot read or write with the backup battery. It includes a charging circuit for the CR2032 rechargeable lithium battery. The clock pin is led out to provide a clock signal for the microcontroller, and it supports cascading with other I2C devices.
